How to Update SSS Contact Information: 2022 Updated Guide

Updating your SSS contact information can be useful in applying for SSS benefits and loans. Your information must be updated in order to receive updates about your applications and other SSS news.

As we know, on the 3rd of August 2021, the SSS temporarily disabled the updating of your information through My.SSS portal in compliance with temporary suspension of state-run pension. According to them, this is to enhance the online portal and boost its security features to protect the confidential information of its members.

But recently, SSS resumed the process of updating your contact information using My.SSS portal starting May 16, 2022.

And this is good news for everyone who doesn’t have time to travel to SSS branches only to make changes to their contact information.

Why Update SSS Contact Information

Your contact information comprises your mailing address, foreign address (if any), telephone number, mobile number, and email address.

All contact information must be active in order to serve its purpose.

So why do we bother updating our contact information? Isn’t it enough to pay our monthly contributions?

The very reason for updating your SSS contact information is for benefits and loan applications. Aside from submission of documentary requirements and enrollment of disbursement account, you also need to have updated contact information.

To give you an example, if you apply for SSS Sickness Benefits, before proceeding, you’ll read the following on your screen.

Now that you know the importance of updating SSS contact information, let’s talk about how we can do that.

How to Update SSS Contact Information Online in 2022

As a heads up, here are the steps in updating your SSS contact information online in 2022 through the My.SSS portal.

Step 1: Login to My.SSS portal.

Step 2: Click Update Contact Info under the Member Info tab.

Step 3: Make Changes to your contact information.

Step 4: Click Next.

Step 5: Click the Confirmation Link

Step 1: Login to My.SSS portal.

Go to My.SSS portal and login to your My.SSS account. Visit https://member.sss.gov.ph.

Step 2: Click Update Contact Info under the Member Info tab.

Hover to the Member Info tab and click Update Contact Info.

Step 3: Make Changes to your contact information.

You can choose what to update on this screen. Your Member Basic Information is also shown on this screen but you can’t make changes to it.

For Mailing Address, tick the checkbox beside it and fill in your updated mailing address.

If you have a foreign address, you can also include it.

Repeat the steps for your other contact information such as telephone number, mobile number, and email address.

Step 4: Click Next.

Upon clicking Next, you need to review your changes in the next page and click Submit to continue or click Back to make another change.

After submission, the process is not complete yet. You have to click the link sent to your updated email address or mobile number within three (3) working days. Otherwise, the link will expire and you will need to repeat the process.

Notes from SSS:

  • After two (2) calendar days from the confirmation date, you will receive an email notification informing you that your requested change/s have been effected together with the PDF copy of your updated contact information.
  • Kindly check your spam/junk folder if you do not find the email notification in your inbox.
  • Please take note of your transaction number, date, and time.

Final Thoughts

Now that SSS resumed the Update Contact Info function of the My.SSS portal, it’s more convenient for our fellow Filipinos to update their contact information without traveling, falling in line, and avoiding incurring travel and food expenses.

We hoped that in the future, SSS will completely digitize all the applications to be made by its members.

    im trying to apply and logged in and went to e services pension loan but it says i should update my email add and contact number. so i clicked member info update contact info. whats in my info is still the same. nothing to change or update. so i clicked next. and thats the end of my application. how can i pass through this?
